I would like to buy a serial port for my Mac. Keyspan is the vendor of choice, since they offer drivers for OS X. Their product line is extensive - in fact, too extensive. They have a USB PDA adaptor, a High Speed USB Serial adaptor, and a USB Twin Serial Adaptor. What's the difference? They're all serial ports, right? Some have RS-422 connectors, some have DB9 connectors, but that's just a cabling/converter issue. I just want to be able to hotsync my aged Palm and hook up the occasional barcode reader/video switcher/laserdisc player (but only one at a time). Any recommendations?
