A friend of mine has a HP LaserJet 5L printer (which is a PC printer) hooked up to his Mac (Performa 6200) via a PowerPrint cable. The printer has worked fine, but now, whenever he selects the printer in the Chooser, he gets the following message: "There was a problem with the printer driver's preferences file. A file is corrupted. (-39)." I've checked the preferences folder, and there is no preference for the printer. The printer and computer were given to him a while ago, so he doesn't have the original disks that have the drivers. I've searched all over the web trying to find the driver, but all I could find were drivers for PC's. (I've checked the HP web site and Adobe, amongst others). Does anyone have this driver, know where I can get it, or have any other solution.
Thank you very much.
(Note: he is using System 7.6.1.)
