Ok, just bought a Seagate barracuda 7200.10 320GB and a cheap i-rocks enclosure thats supposed to fit a drive up to 400gb. I figured to save money i'd buy an internal and just put it in an external box. I guess I thought this would work fine but i dont know alot about computers. Do I have to buy a special adapter or harness or something to hook the two together because the connector from the box doesnt fit the jacks on the internal HD. My friend told me they should hook right up but they aren't even close. please help...

Your drive is SATA, you might have bought an IDE drive casing. These are different connections and if so you need to take the case back and get an SATA drive case instead.

Look after my manor, or I will bum you, literally, to death.

Yea, Newegg is usually pretty lenient with RMAs, especially if you ask for one right away. Give them a call tomorrow, they may even cross-ship the new drive after you pay difference (ATA drives are usually about $20 more).

NewEgg is a very reputable company. Their return/exchange policies are posted.
