I just bought an SATA Seagate barracuda 7200.10 320GB and I need an external enclosure for it. I don't need anything fancy, I was wondering if someone could recommend an enclosure for me. I don't want to spend too much. $20-25. Just something that does the job and does it well. My friend failed to tell me there was a difference between a regular enclosure and an SATA. He probably figured anyone would know i guess....but i didn't. Thx

I'd recommend any of the 4/5 and 5/5 rated enclosures on this page. They all have SATA on the inside and USB on the outside and are under $30; some also have IDE on the inside or eSATA on the outside. Pick whichever one you like the looks of.

So this one looks like it had decent reviews so I'll probably go with that. Looks like it'll connect ok and the the sata power adapter looks like it'll work too. Newegg.com - Scythe NU350PS-OTP External Enclosure - Retail Unless you see a problem I'll go with it. Thx for your help.

I have one of these:
OWC Mercury Elite-AL Quad Interface eSATA,... (MEFW924AL1K) at OWC
Its a very nice case - very solid and sturdy, very well built. Holds a SATA drive and has eSATA, Firewire 400, two Firewire 800, and USB 2.0 ports on the back, to support virtually any setup. Very flexible. And looks nice, too.
