Sprint has a number of cell phones which can be used as a modem, connecting one to the web. I was under the impression that one could use this service by signing up fpr their "SprintVision"(?) service for $15 / month over the price of a voice plan.
Now I have found out that they require one to purchase a "Phone as Modem" plan for $40 / month
Can anyone clarify this situation from practical experience?
Is it possible gain web access while circumventing the $40 charge?

Can't help much on your Sprint problem, but my experience of using a cell phone as a modem has always been it's very expensive and slow.

Though I installed one of these Vodafone UK - Business Solutions - Laptop Internet Access - 3G broadband USB Modem yesterday for someone. Speed wise, very usable - as for cost, it still looks expensive unless you really need it or someone else is paying for it.
