I was trying to record the soundtrack off a DVD via by iMic a week or two ago and had to give up because of a whine in the background of the recording. I put this down to some sort of copy protection on the DVD.
I have just bought a D-Link USB Radio and plugged it in to the iMic on my Cube. Whenever it is operating there is a dreadful whine that makes listening to the radio unbearable. I assumed a fault in the radio or since this is the second problem, the iMic.
By fluke I left the radio running through the iMic and went out. When I came back the whine had gone. The display had also gone to sleep. As soon as the display woke up the whine came back. This is reproducable - whenever the display is on there is a whine when recording from iMic. I have tried moving the iMic to different USB ports and it makes no difference.
Does anyone have any ideas if the iMic/Display are faulty? It is something else I am missing? I am pretty sure the iMic was fine before I got the display but I don't have another monitor to test it with.
Thanks for your help, James
