Please Help,
I have purchased a FireWire Drive from Lacie (It's 250GB) And I can't copy information to it. I keep getting error messages. I've reformatted it... Partitioned it and everything. It simply won't copy information giving me permission problems and also error 36 messages. Is there anything I can do to fix this or is there something wrong with the hard drive. I can copy information between the two internal hard drives without a problem. The drive does mount but it won't unmount after failed attempts to copy information to it.

I'm using a sawtooth with 1.2 GHZ upgraded card in it. OS 10.4.8. I don't know what's wrong. is the size of the hard drive too big? Is it a memory issue? Thanks.

How is the external drive formatted? Sounds like it's NTFS.

I reformatted it with Drive Utility... I partitioned it with standard mac OS formatting and Pc formatting... I formatted it every way possible. I wound up returning it. I'm thinking of getting another one now because Since I returned it, I read that having an iSight plugged into your firewire port can cause problems with other devices. I had been having extreme problems with my iPod plugged in (though not as a FireWire Drive but just as an iPod) and when i unplugged the iSight... EVERYTHING worked via FireWire. It used to hang during iTunes syncs

I returned it because I didn't want to take a chance that something was wrong with the drive.
