I have a Midi keyboard and wanted to connect it to my cube. I am new to Digital audio so I am not really sure what I would need. I am assuming I will need some sort of USB or Firewire interface to connect to the cube, but not sure if I need just a midi box, or a mixer type interface. Also, what good music recording software that is OSX compatible is out there? Thanks for any input guys.

I know there is a way to connect to your computer using MIDI . One product i found on the apple website is this one. http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPL...0.8.3.17.13.0. Plus the Midi Interface comes with its own recording software which is pretty nice. But i do know what software is good for recording because i have never done it.

no music software is OS X compatable yet. Well, all the decent ones that is.

For MIDI, you could look at FastLane USB from www.motu.com

I also recommend emagic's USB MIDI interface, but it's only worth getting if you are going to use Logic Audio. There should be an entry level version of Logic Audio coming out later this year, and I would recommend looking at this. You wont need any mixing capabilities on the MIDI interface, all this can be edited in software.

Another one to look out for is

and this
http://www.edirol.com/products/midi.html

good luck
