I have a Mac Mini that I'd like to control from a KVM that's located in the next room in the office. The only way I can imagine I can do this through a hardware keyboard (besides VNC/Timbuktu, etc.) is by making the USB connection to the KVM wireless. I'm imagining some sort of dongle-like option. Does anyone know of such a thing?

Belkin's suppose to have (dunno if it's released yet) a wireless USB hub. It's a few hundred bucks though. Otherwise there's no way to get wireless USB.

I looked around and what you mentioned is the way to do it, although as noted, it's expensive and not yet available. In my searching, I found that there is going to be a Wireless USB spec. based upon UWB, so that ought to be interesting.

if you need to use one keyboard (and mouse) to access many computers, get synergy (synergykm for a nice gui)

you can use one mouse and keyboard on any os (unix, windows, mac) to use it on any other computer on any os without any new hardware.

Out of curiosity, why not use VNC (or something similar)?

But as the previous poster's said, there's nothing available quite yet to meet your exact problem. A software-based solution like VNC, Apple Remote Desktop or Timbuktu seems to be the best bet (never used synergy so I can't speak to its effectiveness).
