my ipod is almost dead, but not totally. most of the time it will still function as an mp3 player, but if it locks up I have to drain the battery. It won't communicate with my g4 at all (or my friends powerbook). If I force the firewire connection, occasionally I can get it to the firewire screen on the ipod, and the System Profiler shows my ipod connected as a firewire device, but it does not show up in the finder, nor itunes, nor to the ipod software updater. does anyone have any suggestions? I don't care if I lose all the songs, I have them backed up, it would just be nice to use it like it was meant to be used.
ps - it died for no apparent reason 119 days after I bought it. 29 days too late.
