I've been very happy with the Keyspan one, but it is based on infrared, so you I've had an issue or two where it wouldn't advance due to lack of line-of-site. But overall, it's a very good remote for presentations and it's now OS X compatible.

And AFAIK, Steve doesn't use a typical presentation device. His "clicker" sends a signal to a receiver backstage that tells the person that's manning his slide show that he wants to advance the slide. So nothing is really integrated into the computer, it's just a device to communicate to another person.

That's good news about the Keyspan remote. I do wish there was one based on RF though, so you would not have to worry about "line of sight."

That would be pretty amazing if all he had was just a clicker. Doesn't it seem a little big to just do that. You could probably fit something that would do that on the inside of your thumb and press it against the knuckle of your index finger to do just that. Also it could be matched to your flesh so almost no one could see it.

Though there must be someone backstage who is switching the inputs on the projectors. I don't know. After the disaster at MWNY last year I'll bet they rehearse several times.

Weeks and weeks before every macworld Steve is picking and chosing every single aspect of the presntaing, color of the slides, the imporv jakes, hand gestures, he is very anal about how he presents himself, thats might be why he clears his throught.

BTW I read this in the book Steve Jobs Second Coming, about his time he got fired/quit from Apple back in 1984-5 and his runnning of NeXT and Pixar, a very good quick read, great information about the man and how he runs his business.

Back to the Topic I have the Keyspan DMR and love it, its fully compatible in OSX you can do any keystroke in any app. I use it in itunes, dvd, Explore, I find if you have the sensoner placed well, up high, then you won't have any real problems with signel
