I just brought an Apple Pro Keyboard, and am so pleased. The Keyboard is just right, and very quite. The box also included a USB extension cable ($10 value), and a CD with the 9.1 Updater on it ($20 value) Overall very nice.

Also, just like the Cube, pressing "Control"-"CD/DVD-Eject" gives the keyboard a power key function.

So why the hell did they remove the key if they ended up having to make a substitute?
Idiots.
Can you power on from it?
Thats all thats stopping me getting one. The power key.

Totally agree with you Cipher, the power key on the Mac Keyboard was one of the "coolest" features of the Mac when I made the "switch" from the PC to Macintosh.

Great!!! So now they add all these "eject" and "Volume" buttons (things that can be achieved in sooooooo many other ways through the OS) but we have to "sacrifice" the trusty old Power on / shutdown Key????

I always thought "progress" meant making something "better" without sacrificing things that people have come to "expect". I mean the move to a full sized Keyboard was definitely "right" over the previous "Missing in action Keys" keyboards and "Hockey-Puck" mouse, but now we have to "give-up" one of the little things that's always made a Mac so cool

Sorta like having to give-up DVD-ROM standard for the "priveledge" of (very SLOW) CD-RW's

When does the consumer actually "win"? That's all I want to know

Damn right dude... we're always making trade offs!
We get CDRW, but lose DVD.
We get a full keyboard, and lose the power key.
And so on...
All I know is that I'm staying with my good ol MIA (hehe, missing in action keys... good call) USB keyboard
