I’m under the impression that the internal superdrive in the MacBook can not be made region free, please correct me if I am wrong. So I’m now looking at getting an external dvd drive and im after some recommendations. What I’m looking for is a drive that is region free out of the box or easy enough to make region free. I want something that is pretty and suits the MacBook looks. If it was portable it would be nice but its not essential. Other than that I don’t really care for wat feature it does and doesn’t have. Thanks for the advise
Instead of buying extra hardware, why not use region-free software? I know of a few for Windows (DVD Region+CSS Free, AnyDVD, etc) and I would assume there is at least one for OS X too.
Mac update estimates:MacBook Pro 1Q10 (quad core Nehalem [Clarksfield]); MacBook 1Q10 (Arrandale); MacBook Air 1Q10 (Arrandale LV); Mac Pro/Xserve 1Q10 (6 core Westmere, 64+GB RAM); iMac 3Q10 (quad core everywhere); Mac mini 2010
I've looked into that. The only option for mac is a program called Region X however its development stop awhile ago and it does not work at all on the intel macs. So it looks like i have to get a external drive any suggestions?
