Soundsticks with isub included are compatble to any imac, ibook, powerbook and powermac G4 out there.
Prospeakers have a special plug which is only compatible to one model. (I think powerbook)
So you're better off taking the soundsticks and I can recommen them, the sound is awesome.</STRONG>
Pro speakers come in three flavors:
Revision 1: G4 Cube style = USB plug, 20 watts
Revision 2: Released in July of 2001 = Pro speaker plug, 20 watts with some enhancements
Revision 3: Released 2002 - iMac speakers = Pro speaker plug, 18 watts, white instead of black foam. (only for imac orders tho)
The Pro speaker plug is found on new imacs and on all quicksilvers.
If you don't have a PS plug, you might be able to find USB pro speakers off ebay or something.
A total Pro speaker/iSub setup runs $120. Soundsticks run $200.
Pro speaker/isub setup gives better bass but flat treble.
Soundsticks give crappy bass but good high sounds.
On OS 10.1, the iSub will work on ANY mac... same with pro speakers under 10.1 (means you can have as many usb speakers as you want).
Good luck.
