I just installed a new IBM 80GB drive in my 867 as a second drive. I find that sometimes (usually after not accessing it for a long time) when I try to access it, I hear a click noise then my cursor spins (OS X 10.1.2 for a few seconds before displaying the contents of whatever directory I was trying to access.

It reminds me of what happens when my PowerBook drive needs to spin up after being asleep. I'm guessing this is intentional, but I don't like it one bit! I spent some good coin to load this thing to the hilt with 1.2GB of RAM and a total of 120GB HD space. When I click that drive I want to see what's in there pronto!

Any ideas on how to change this behavior so the drive is ready and willing all the time?
