Does anyone have one of these? How well does it work? Who else makes non-infrared wireless mac mice? Could Apple, hypothetically, use their airport system as a wireless peripheral broadcaster too?

First Airport will probably never be used for peripherals like mice and keyboards and such. Airport is wireless ethernet, and as such it's designed for a network. It's highly unlikely that you will ever give a mouse an IP address.

OTOH, wireless Bluetooth has been demonstrated. Different architectures serve different needs.

I haven't used the mouse you are talking about, only IR versions. Thinking out loud here, but would 900MHz wireless devices have interference problems with 900MHz cordless phones?
