I really hate the feel of the Apple Pro keyboard that came with my G4. It is way too soft and mushy for my tastes. I had been using an Apple Extended Keyboard II up until now, and really enjoyed the tactile key response on that board. So is there a new USB graphite keyboard out there with a similar feel to the old Extended II?

Have you used the MacAlly iKey?
What I suggest go to your local computer store, and try all different ones out... its the best way.
The best keyboard, I don't know the name of. I'll try and find it out...

Well, I was a LONG time Extended II user until it had a fight with a cup of Coke and lost. =( I got an Apple Pro Keyboard and although it was difficult at first, I really like it now. Granted, the iBook keyboard made it easier to transistion from the Ext II to the Pro Keyboard. =)

Try the iKey, don't try either the macsense uk-600 or the mac connectors keyboard. I couldn't stand either of em. Try here too -> http://www.adessoinc.com/usbprod.htm <- take a look at the bottom four. BTW: Could we make a deal on your apple pro keyboard once you get settled in with your new one.......

I'm with you, FreeQuark. I still don't like the touch of the Pro, even after about 5 months with it (using it at home with my summer 2000 iMac). But I use the MacAlly iKey at work and have great typing accuracy and speed with it.

If I ever have a little extra cash, I may buy either the iKey or the MediaKey (if that's the name of it) by MacAlly.
