Can someone please recommend a good firewire cdr or crw burner that works with Jam and Toast (MAC)? 8x times fast enough. I'd really appreciate it...

Yamaha 8824 FireWire model. 8X write, 8X re-write, 24X read.
Its the best burner on the market without stepping up to the Yamaha LightSpeed burner.

cipher13,
i really have to ask you if you're a member of a yamaha cult of one sort or another. i understand that yamaha makes good burners, but surely they're not the only company?

I took Ciph's advice and bought the Yamaha-Firewire 8824 (i.e., they're very hard to find; I think I bought the last one in stock from Amazon.com a couple weeks ago.)

I use the Yamaha on my Pismo--simply and truly "plug and play". I bought Toast Deluxe for it too. Audio-types will disagree, but I find the bundled (w/T-D) CD-SpinDoctor a lot easier than Peak-LE or Raygun for burning/editing from my old 1960's vinyl LPs.

I looked at the Sony CDRW before I bought, but I'm very pleased with my Yamaha.

Me too, I think I caught the "Yamaha-cult meme" from Ciph <grin>.

Regards, T.

P.S. For those not into popular psychology; a "meme" is the memory equivalent of the genetic "gene". Therefore, a meme is a virus-like thought/idea which "infects" human brains. Democracy, religion, capitalism, etc. are all thought to be "memes" by some. Marketing types at Microsoft love the idea of "memes", heh-heh.
