I just bought an ipod and a firewire pc card for my powerbook g3 lombard. The pc card I bought is from Orange Micro because I found that it would be compatable with the ipod if you had the power adaptor. Well I bought the power adaptor and I still can't get the ipod to sync with itunes. The ipod is able to charge now but no sync. Any ideas? I emailed orange micro to see what they say too. Thanks for any help

Does the iPod mount when you plug it in? Can you see it in iTunes? Can you manually put songs on it? Are you sure it's not just a setting in iTunes?

Make sure the iPod is actually functioning correctly. Have you gotten it to work on another computer? I got an iPod that would charge but would never mount. I called Apple, explained my problem, and now they're sending me a new one (just got sent today ). Also check the Apple discussion forums because there are quite a few ppl w/ the same problem you're having. If it fails to mount on another computer, you may have a dead iPod.
