I'm looking at picking up a new printer for the house, and I'm looking for some informed opinions. My needs centre around printing text, although I will be printing some colour VCD labels every once in a while.

My first choice is the Lexmark Z65n for the speed and network connectivity. I would like to allow everyone in the house to use this printer.

My other choice is the HP 960cse. This is my backup option in case I find something ugly about Lexmark and OS X support.

I need the printer to work with both OS 8.6 and OS X, which the Lexmark does. Are there any reasons I shouldn't buy the Lexmark printer? Thanks.

I've owned three Lexmark inkjets, and they've done a superb job in text printing! The last one I owned rivaled my HP laser for text quality!

as posted in another topic (never lexmark again) i had a very very bad experience with a laser from lexmark, but a colleague has a inkjet and the only thing he has to critize about is the ink consumption. it's high compared to the one of his other inkjet from epson. the lexmark indeed is silent..
