If you go to maxtor.com, it's the big, animated picture for the DiamondMax80.

But it has a different mfr ID, so it's not the same.

Well what you have linked to is not to the bare drive, but the drive in a firewire enclosure; so of course it will have a different ID.
It is hard to tell what enclosure is used here and how it will work with a mac (it is listed as PC-only, so beware).
I would suggest getting the bare drive OEM, and purchasing an ADS Pyro firewire enclosure, and taking the 5 minutes to put it in yourself. This combination should work perfectly and you'll save a few bucks too.
