There seem to be all kinds of digital recorders available by Olympus that are cheap and nice, but I'd hate to have to boot into Windows or use Parallels in order to download the files. Does anybody know of a workaround that will allow one to access the files from players that aren't official Mac-friendly?

Don't they just show up as a USB drive? At least that was the case with some cheap no-name recorder a friend of mine used.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

I have a DS-2, which can record stereo and in very high quality. Satisfying unit which I can recommend.

Mac compatible software is included, also a dock to connect to the mac. I haven't installed the software yet, so I can't tell you details.

I wouldn't go with the cheaper ones, as they mostly are PC only.

I got the ds-2 from amazon, can't truly remember the price, somewhere below 95$, but it is easy to use. I recommend getting rechargeable batteries.
