Ok, just thinking... nVidias use of generic drivers... and now there is a Mac GeForce2 MX...
Would it be able to operate a Creative TNT 2?
Or would it requre new firmware or something?
And if so, is that available anywhere?
Worth a shot...

The cards aren't the same (the nVIDIA Mac cards vs. PC cards). On top of that, right now driver support is limited to ADC, I'd imagine...

The GeForce2 MX has an entirely different chipset that offers little-endian/big-endian compatability with Macs. There are also some other issues such as DVD playback involved. Older NVIDIA cards will not work with the Mac.

I have yet to see absolute confirmation that a retail GeForce2 MX will not work, but I would be very suprised if it did. NVIDIA does not manufacture cards, only chips. Creative, Asus, Guillemot and others make the cards and they are very focused on getting the most out of the PC market.

I heard over at xlr8yourmac that Nvidia was working on a flash utility for the Mac. Future cards are all supposed to be Mac compatible, so hopefully they'll release the utility and we'll be on our way to higher frame rates!

The only nVidia chipsets released so far that can work in Macs at all are the MX based ones (the GF2-MX and the GF-2-go for laptops). That is why nobody is even talking about a "regular" GF2 or Pro or Ultra GF2 for the Mac (because of the endian issues). The soon to be released NV-20 (GF-3?) will have Mac endian support as will all future nVidia chips. If the MX can be successfully flashed at all it could likely be only an unmodified reference type card (such as eVGA instead of a Creative or Hercules/Guillemont type card). At least they are cheap now (less than $100 US).
