I've done a bit of research, and a bit of reading here and other websites and think I understand what is required to use the Apple Cinema Display (ADC connection) with multiiple computers. It doesn't look like an elegant solution and I wondered if anyone knows of a "one-box" solution or may be aware of something coming soon.

Suppose I have two ADC Macs and I want to use one keyboard, one mouse, and one Cinema Display. I think I could do that with the a ADC to DVI cable for each Mac. Then plug in something like the Genfen (www.genfen.com) DVI switcher. Then a DVI to ADC conversion box for the connection from the switcher to the Cinema display.

A few problems with this solution... it's not elegan first of all, and second, it does not provide support for a VGA solution. I suppose I could purchase DVI cards for the PCs.

It seems there has to be a better way. I'd really like to find a nice, simple KVM switch that fully supports ADC. I've got a few KVM switches for the Windows/VGA world -- why is ADC so hard?

thanks - danbrew
