With what drivers and systems? I'm hearing conflicting reports here and in other forums.
Thanks for clearing up the confusion.

Any iMac, iBook, or Powerbook with built-in Firewire can boot from a Firewire disk. Any G4 with AGP can also boot from Firewire disks.

Actually, I was having issues with a particular drive mfg., Lacie, which uses its Silverlining software instead of Apple's FW drivers to mount the disk. I was told by several shops that this was not a bootable HD, for that reason, but called Lacie and was told there that, yes, they are now bootable.
So there it is, from the horse's mouth, unless someone wants to correct me.
Alan.
