Hi there,
First of all, I have already posted this in the PowerMac thread, but thought that perhaps this might be a better place to put it. Sorry.
I would like to purchase a GeForce 2MX 200 or 400 for my G4/350 2xAGP to replace my current ATI RAge 128 Pro 16mb.
Thing is, I live in the UK and can't seem to find anyone who sells it, but there must be someone who stocks it!
I can find loads of PC ones, which I believe can be 'flashed' or something to work on a Mac. Where would I get the Mac firmware from, how do I flash it, is it a reliable thing to do and will the resulting flashed card be the same as a proper, official Mac card, if I could buy one, that is
Are these good cards? Will they work on my Mac. A pdf i downloaded from nvidia says that supported operating systems are OS 9. No mention of OS X. I use OS X about 90% of the time. The pdf also says that it offers "comprehensive AGP 4x support, including fast writes and execute modes". For some reason, I thought that the GeForce 2 used AGP 2x.
Would I notice a big improvement over my ATI Rage Pro 128 card. I play a lot of 3d games under os x, like quake 3 and x-plane 6, would like to hope that the card would help the now-struggling 350mhz processor.
I hope someone can help. I have the £££ to spend, but I just can't find anywhere to spend it.
Thanks,
Matthew
