Anybody here know how to connect an Apple Laserwriter 4/600 PS printer to a Mac via an ethernet connection? Newer macs no longer have the serial printer port of yesteryear, and Mac OS X supports printing only through network connections. If there is a way to do so, what additional harware is required? Thanks for info!

Farallon's iPrint LT adapter will do the trick. Goes for around $100.

I ordered Farallon's iPrint with my G4/350 and it has been working without problems with my HP4ML printer from the getgo.

It's worth the price.

I third the Farallon choice; I use it on my home LAN. Asante also produces a bridge.

A note about the Farallon: you need a PhoneNet adapter to use it (an extra $20 or so if you don't have one already).
I am stupidest when I try to be funny.

I've been using the Asante product (Asantetalk) with my B/W G3, 2000 Powerbook, and new G4 Cube/Airport without any problems. It's about $90 or so and comes complete with cables.

Good Luck with your networking.
