Hey All,
I'll be taking a trip on Amtrak in late March and wanted to know if the coaches have any way to plug in my TiBook for power... And if so, what extra hardware (if any) do I need to do so? Any train people out there?

Thanks,
Jeremy

what is the route you'll be on? Try amtrak's website or their tel., b/c there might be seating particulars as well.

If you're on the Acela Express, Metroliner, or in a sleeper accomodation on one of the long-distance routes, there'll be standard 110V outlets available.

Can't remember the situation on the regular coaches ("chair cars"), tho. Sorry....

Acela Regional, and Metroliner amtrak trains are equipt with poweroutlets. a regular 12v outlet
on the Acela Express there is on on the arm of your chair..on the AR and Metroliners
in choach it can ususally be found on the wall under the window
some cars arn't always "turned on" though so no power will flow
be sure to ask and attendant to turn it on for you and you'll have no problems
