I was looking at getting a new hard drive for my Pismo PowerBook, so I went to transintl.com to look at their TravelStar disk listings. But one spec they list I just don't understand: "GN" and "GH." All models up to the 48GB one are listed as having the same number for "GN" and volume (i.e. 20GB -> 20GN, 30GB -> 30GN). Then the 48 and 60GB models have 48 and 60 GH. What does that mean?
Then I looked at pricewatch.com. The listings there seemed to have no correlation between GB and GN or GH.

I always thought they were just IBM product designations. Try to find the specs on these drives someplace else to confirm. IBM's site is a disaster.

The GN drive has dynamic fluid bearings, if I recall. It's very, very quiet.

Anyone try the ultra-quiet drive in their ibook? I'm about to upgrade mine. The drive it shipped with has gotten irritatingly noisy.
