If you view the "About" screen on the Apple TV you can see the Software Version number amongst other things. When you are on this screen press the 'Play' button on the remote, each time you press the Software Version Number entry will change to :-

Software Build - 175
OS Build Version - 8N5107
EFI Version - 00D9.B00
IR Version - 2.4.2
GF Version - 3.0.0/2.8.3

Just thought you might like to know.
