I have a new Apple Pro Keyboard with no "ON / Shutdown" Button. Is there a keyboard equivalent for the missing "Start / Shutdown" button?

The shortcuts that I can use on my G4 Cube are as follows:
ctrl-alt-cmd-eject: Shutdown
ctrl-cmd-eject: Restart
alt-cmd-eject: Sleep
I somehow remember that it didn't work on iMacs, but I'm not sure.

I read somewhere that the disk eject button works just like the power button when there are no disks in the drive, but I don't know for sure

Wow, well done Apple.
You went from a single power button from where you could hit 'enter' or 's' or whatever, to "Command-Control-Option-Eject".
And in the process ensured I don't buy the Pro keyboard.

Hmm... I doubt that. For the sake of consistency. It just wouldn't make sense.
Hey, it may bloody well be like that then!

If anyone still cares, pressing control-eject produces a standard "Are you sure you want to shutdown your computer now? (Restart) (Sleep) (Cancel) (Shut Down)" dialog box on my G4/500 DP. I seem to remember this working on G4 Cubes as well, but not on iMacs. I can't say for sure, though, b/c I'm not at work where I have access to iMac and Cube demo models. But that's what I seem to recall working...

The cmd-eject doesn't seem to work on my cube (while the other direct combinations do). I wonder why this should depend on the model.

Hmm. Interesting. I'll have to double check that at work tomorrow. Stay tuned.

Well first check to see if you are pressing the right key combination: CyberDave said that Control-Eject summoned the shutdown dialog. 2far and djholt then chimed in to say that Command-Eject didn't work. Well, what can I say? Try the suggested solution, not something else!!!

I am thinking of purchasing the pro keyboard but I see a few problems... first off I have a beige g3 with a usb card in it; apple says that the media keys are nonfunctional on my system, is this true? Would there be a way to power up/shutdown/force restart on a beige g3 via keyboard?
