I have a 1GHz PowerBook and recently purchased a Samsung SyncMaster monotor to run as a second display. The colors on this display are noticably different from those that the PowerBooks LCD shows; everything appears brighter, more washed out. I've searched other posts to see if anyone else has written about how to solve the inconsistancy, but did not find anything. However, it appears that the problem is common. I've calibrated the second monitor, but it did not fix it. Does anyone know what to do to make the colors match?

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried SuperCal? I've found it much more useful than the built-in Colorsync tool.

I've given up trying to get consistent color on both displays (my MacBook and external LCD display), short of using a hardware calibrator. I've now got my external display calibrated reasonably well to match my color laser printer, and that's good enough for me.

I do not like them, Sam I am.
