I'm having problems with a BJC 3000 printer--brand new, installed the cartridges, but a constant error (D49 or M49) when trying to print from SimpleText that the wrong cartridge is installed and that I should try again.
Also, when trying to Print Window in the finder, the folders and lettering is printed out with a ghost effect- lacking clarity and only printing the outline of the folder names.

Can anyone shed light on this?

Well mine situation is a bit different....I've got a DVSE 400, 256mb ram system 9.0.4 and a new Canon 3000 printer that is allegedly Mac compatable for >8.1. I went through the install with the included software from the Canon install CD, and even tried a download from canon's site with no joy. The software installs and I can select the BJC3000 in the chooser, but nothing shows up in the connected to box. I know it's got to be some kind of extension conflict but trying with base 9.0.4 software and the Canon install gives the same results and the canon reps have been clueless. Any ideas or help is appreciated.
