I understand that my problem is not iMac specific but I would appreciate any help I can get. What follows is a dscription of an ongoing problem for me. Thank you in advance for any help offered.

Thought I had this problem licked but it’s back again!! Since a recent crash while trying to upgrade to OS 8.6, my Color StyleWriter 4100 refuses to print complete documents...sometimes a page and a half, other times, half a page. Since the 8.6 disaster, I've done a clean re-install of my 8.5, removed and reinstalled the 4100 drivers (easy install method), zapped the PRAM, rebuilt the desktop (several times for each of the last three). Have checked cable connections, although, since it prints at least half a page, I don’t see that as a problem. Have even replaced both ink cartridges! Have even tried at someone’s suggestion, to remove what might be faulty preference file...couldn’t even FIND said pref file! Sometimes, rebooting will allow me to print several pages, then the thing just sits there acting like it's thinking about going out to breakfast! This thing is driving me insane! Thank you very much! Gizz Davis

Try downloading the new drivers. You may also want to try HP's drivers, the printer is actually a Deskwriter 680c.
