hi all. i am plugging my canon powershot sd550 into my imac g4 (os x 10.4.9) using the mini usb provided and my mac seems to not notice it. it doesn't show up in finder at all and i can't seem to do anything to get the pics off the camera onto my mac. i could go buy a minisd card reader, but it would be easier if my mac found the camera.

any ideas here why this isn't working? thanks for the help.

Try iPhoto or Image Capture.app (located in Applications), they can recognize the camera.
iPhoto has more options, but for some reason it didn't work for me (similar setup: g4 machine and canon camera).
Image Capture.app works just fine for me.

im sure you have already tried this but if not turn the camera on when ¥ou connect it if it doesnt have any power it wont be recognized.
