have a Intel 20" iMac running OS X, 10.4.9 (this is NickelLessNick's wife, June); recently my husband bought me a Sony Cybershot (DSC W30), and at first, it worked great. However, I had a external dial-up modem problem that required the purchase of a new modem from Apple. But prior to the purchase, an Apple Rep suggested reinstalling the operating system: this did not help, and the new modem was purchased. After receiving the new modem, I took some pictures, iPhoto opened up, and during the upload process the beachball appeared, the pictures failed to transfer, and iPhoto has not worked since, and in fact, the whole system does not work: I attempted restarting the computer and all I get now is a white screen with a grey camera with a question mark flashing. Is this a driver related issue (I cannot find drivers on the Sony website, and I have lost the CD that came with the camera), or a computer issue?
Any imput would be appreciated, as my husband touts this website highly.

well.. the camera should work right out of the box without any driver. How about instead of using iPhoto, use ImageCapture? Do you have a USB card reader lying around?
