So, I want to start recording TV on my Mac mini, but I need a video input. What should I choose? I only need analog in, since I can't even tune a satellite signal (even if it would be nice to and to get the full HDTV signal, but oh well). I would appreciate component in, but it's not an absolute necessity. This is just for recording a show and watching it later. I just need to feed the video in so I can press "record" on the Mac or set it to record on that channel at some later time. Nothing too fancy.

So what should I go with? ElGato, Miglia, Formac (are they even doing business anymore), or something else? I've been taking a good look at the ElGato EyeTV Hybrid, but the price is somewhat of a a turnoff. I don't understand why a simple tuner/video input card should cost so much these days. I have heard good things about the EyeTV software, though, which is a plus. What do you guys think?

The EyeTV Hybrid is decent, easy, and probably one of the cheapest options available..

The hardware in a tuner isn't that expensive (non-Mac compatible tuners be had for $20-$30), but drivers and software for OSX cost money to develop and they don't sell a lot of units.
