or are other owners of the soundsticks dissapointed by the bass level just like I am?

Just to test the subwoofer capability, i cranked my powermac's valume to the max, and unplugged the satellites, but kept the subwoofer at max. It was pretty impressive - not heart thumping, but bass was rich and resonated well.

However, as soon as I plugged in my satellites, they were so loud that they drained out the bass.

is there ANY ANY way to lower the satellite speaker volume while keeping the subwoofer volume constant? This would realy make the $200 pricetag somewhat more worthwhile... Hrm.

Thanks in advance, guys.

Go into the sound control panel and click on the speakers tab. You will be able to adjust each of the speakers individually as well as the subwoofer.

ibookuser, thanks for the tip.

however, it didn't work. I am only allowed to adjust volumes for the satellite speakers, but not the subwoofer itself.

When I decrease the sounds of the satellites, the subwoofer automatically "matches" the volume level of the satellites....

Very interesting... the original iSub allowed you to set it differently from the other speakers.
