HP 970Cse--no yellow in color print

My HP 970Cse stopped printing in yellow. I replaced the color cartridge but to no avail. I checked the HP web site but it was absolutely of no help. I also test printed from my laptop and the same problem exists, so I think the issue is with the printer and not my computers. Anyone have any ideas of what the problem is and how to fix it? Thanks.

If your 970cse isnot printing yellow then try an internal test page from the printer, hold in the resume buttom (the middle button) for about five seconds and then release it, a test page should print. There should be yellow on that page. If not you may have a defective cartridge.

The 970cse is a great printer, much better than the old 870

Try cleaning the cartridge contacts, both in the printer and on the cartridge. They are the copper areas that make contact with the cartridge. (Be sure you unplug the printer first!)

Tried the test print and tried cleaning the contacts as described, still no luck--yellow just doesn't print. Do you think it is a circuit board problem or something similar. Thanks.

It could be a short somewhere. If the printer is still under warranty, have them fix it. Otherwise, you may be out of luck, unless you want to get a new printer or pay to have it fixed. There is also some wild possibility that you got a defective cartridge...
