I've just been given an external SCSI zip drive, but unfortunately my one SCSI outlet is already being used by an external hard disk.

A total newbie question here, but what do I have to do get this thing installed. Can I just buy a SCSI card and throw it in one of my expansion bays and plug and play? Will it work just like that (with the driver software from Iomega of course).

I have PM8500/132 which has been upgraded with a Sonnet 300 G3 card.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Doesn't the case of your external HD have another connector on the back? You can chain up to 7 devices, less depending on how many SCSI devices you have internal.
Pay attention to the address switch on the back.
MoBo uses 7
HD is usu 0, 1 for a second drive
CD is usu 3
Do a Sherlock search for SCSI and read up. It's kinda complicated sometimes.

I'm getting real spoiled with USB and FireWire.

Yes, it does, but I noticed that the HD has wide SCSI interface and my zip has a 50 pin plug. I guess I'll need an adapter. Thanks for the reply.
