Has anyone got an iPod in the UK yet ?

I ordered mine on the 28th October, and Apple tell me to expect it at the start of December.

That seems a very long time to wait !!

I ordered mine on the 1st, At that time it said it would be 25 days estimated build time. Just checked the time on new iPod orders and they are 10 days, so I'm hoping that mine will arrive within the 25 days they estimated... 9 days to go... Whoooo!!!!!

I free'd my mind... now it won't come back.

When I spoke to the Apple Store, they reminded me that the 25 days on the order are 'working days'. So you may still have 13 days to go not 9 !!!

At least there is hope that they will deliver mine withing 2 weeks.

Allegedly, next weeks Macexpo UK is the official launch of iPod in the UK. I think I might bring a couple of hundred quid to try and buy one there and then ;-)

I called the Apple Store today, and they tell me my order now has a delivery number. This means it should be picked from stock and shipped in the next 2 days. With any luck it will be here on Saturday, or if not Monday :-)))

Has anyone had an iPod in the UK yet ?

If Irish Express Cargo are at all consistent you'll get it around a week Monday.

I've ordered around £10,000 of various bits of kit from the Apple Store to date and each time they have mislayed my order, sent me defective kit and consistently denied having ever spoken to me when I call back regarding my order. It took me six months to get a working PowerBook G4 from when I first ordered one in January.

A perhaps most telling, they only called to apologise when my first order was 4 weeks later after I informed them I was a first time Mac buyer.

So I wouldn't hold you breath.

Well, as I expected my delivery via IEC was delayed at 3pm yesterday in the Netherlands when they lost the paperwork. I called IEC and they said the tracking was wrong and that they could guareentee it would arrived today.

Well, this morning the tracking said it was on the truck only to be updated 5 mins later with a comment saying my order never left the Netherlands. I called them and they say they'll have a go finding it but anticipate delivery on Tuesday or Wednesday next week providing they can find it today.

Which is nice.

Anyway, guess that's faster than when I ordered Mac OS X 10.0 and it arrived 2 weeks late because the job was subcontracted to TNT who received the goods but not my address.

Purchasing from Apple UK is a bad experience all round, it's almost enough to make me buy a Dell.

Mine arrived this morning at 9:30 as per the IEC tracking pages.
I followed it all the way.

It was fully charged on arrival, now full of music and it is ACE !!
