I recently bought a Creative WebCam GO USB webcam for my iMac. It works brilliantly, but I am unable to join in in netmeeting conferences as I have found no software that will work with the cam or with MS Netmeeting. iVisit kinda works, but the video doesnt work and I could use VPC and Windows Netmeeting, but I want to do it all natively. Anyone get any bright ideas?

I have been using the Kritter USB Digital camera with White Pine's CU-See Me software for six months. The application is very stable and the camera works well with it.

There are versions of CU-See Me that work well in Windows, so it's cross-platform.

You should know that Cornell University has ceased development of the software now that White Pine has purchased it.

You should know that there are no H.323 clients for the Mac *at all*. This means no interoperability with NetMeeting or virtually any other video conf app that is not proprietary. (White Pine's Windows client supports H.323, but the Mac client does not. The Mac client can only communicate with H.323 by going through White Pine's MeetingPoint server to do the translation.)

I've found that iVisit is a very capable videoconferencing system. The audio quality is quite good in comparison to other free offerings.

It's not compatible with NetMeeting of course, but at least the client software is free and actively supported. I expect that there will be H.323 clients available for Mac OS X before long.

I use iVisit with a Quickcam USB and have no problems at all. I also tried Internet Phone, ClearPhone, and the free version of cu-seeme. iVisit was the best.

What is the consensus on ClearPhone? Good or bad, and in what ways? Also, for those who find iVisit to be better, could you tell me in what ways it is better? Thanks
