Want to get one of the above for my mom's new Cube. A couple questions. Is the 17" $400 better than the 15"? And what if anything is the Apple Store trying to obscure with that almost sideways photo of the 15" display? I mean, why bother with a photo at all if that's all they want to show? Thanks!

I can only speak from experience with the 15". I've been playing with the ones we have at work and decided to buy one for my dual 500 at home. The screen size is nearly that of the 17" ADC CRT I have currently and I just can't seem to justify $1000 for the 17" LCD. I'm sure they're nice and all but the 15" will do what I need it to and looks great.

Another factor was that I play Q3A at 1024x768 which is the native resolution of the 15", the 17" has to scale down from 1200-something to accomidate that and whenever an LCD scales from it's optimum resolution it looks more blurry and strange.

I have a G4 Cube and the 15' LCD for a year now. I am selling the 15' display and getting the 17'

Why, in OSX the 15' is to damn small! Not the size of the screen but the resolution is the same as an iMac 1024x768.

The 17 has an extra 2' of screen and a res of 1200x1024. This is PERFECT!

If your mom does nothing but surf da net and e-mail then the 15' is fine. If she does any design or wants to upgrade to OSX then get the 17'.

zos & DH,
Thanks for the advice! The 15" is the one.
