I would like to watch dvds on my powermac.. but I only have a cdrw inside. Does anyone know of a compatible third party internal combo drive I could install? I noticed there are lot of them on ebay, what brand does Apple use? I know my cdrw is an Apple branded sony mechanism.. is the combo made by sony too?

or can anyone recommend a third party external usb or inexpensive firewire dvd-rom?

I would check Xlr8yourmac's

drive compatibility database for compatible drives. The only firewire DVD drives I know of are from MCE

I think Lacie was showing off a portable DVD drive at Macworld, but not sure what happened to it.
