hi.
i have a ezquest firewire CDRW (teac 512 mechanism i think) which is problematic. it keeps disapearing in toast.
when i bought the drive (from macgurus) it came with a sheet of paper describing a procedure if it doesn't show up in toast p turn drive off - pull FW cable, turn back on - reinsert cable, restart toast etc.
i thought - uh-oh,, when i saw it, but the drive was fine for 6 months or so.
now it's getting really unreliable - and failing to write cds and p#ssing me off! anyone else had this problem?

Sounds like a real piece of junk. Can you still return it under warranty?

I tried to help you with this where you previously posted it, the iMac thread I think. Take a look and see if it helps your problem. The burner is as decent as any other on the market, and has excellent tech support, unlike other brands which have been noted in these threads.
