I have been searching for some decent quality USB2.0 (A to B), FW400 and FW800 leads that are 8-20 inches long and I can only find Belkin ones ... and Belkin Australia won't bring them into the country for me! Their "market research" indicated that the average Australian consumer likes to cable tie 3ft leads to make them shorter
Does anyone know of another brand / website that I can find the length lead I am after, I am so sick of having 3ft leads cluttering up my desk, I just want my PowerBook and extras all within arms length and that's it, I really didn't think it would be so hard to find what I am after!

Seriously, any brand is good. Just make sure it's long enough and as cheap as possible.

Seriously ... give me a brand other than Belkin that make ones in the length I am after.
Have a good look around, it is not that easy, then re-post ... good luck!
And I do not want one of those cheap tacky extendable USB or Firewire cables.

USB was a little tougher, but I found some 8-inchers here.
I'm going to guess you are out of luck on the FW800, not enough economy of scale to have a wide cable selection. 1 meter is the shortest I've found.

After another night of hunting I have found where to get all of them!!!
Check out:
NTC Distributing
They have 12" versions of USB2.0, FW400 and FW800. They are not as cheap as the link above but they look to be reasonable quality, I will be ordering some soon so we will see.
