I am finally getting the go ahead to put an iMac into a company. (always pc's before). It will be used for Internet and for scanning Text Paper Requests.

I need to advise on the best way to scan 300+ pages a day of paper into it and convert into PDF files. Then I need a good back up method.

Any input is appreciated.

What is the consensus on the best method to scan (which scanner and batch utility) and convert (PDF format) and back-up. How big does a file end up in PDF for a page in good resolution (just text)?

Then with a new iMac, depending on file size, I figure they could back up to the CD-RW daily, or get a new 911 FireWire drive for back up. Though having it on CD would be nicer for the transporting to the pc's.

Thanks..
