I've got a 17" Studio Display, the blue-and-white CRT from a couple of years ago.

I've got an issue where the screen shuts off every 2 minutes. It goes black, the green power button goes amber, then green, then amber (trying to come back on) and then it finally comes back on. But it only stays on for another 60 seconds or so (if that) before doing the same thing again.

I thought it was my surge protector, but I disconnected the monitor from it and plugged it straight in the wall. Same problem...

Is this a sign that it's about to croak?

UPDATE

Okay, so I plugged the monitor into a different jack, it stayed fine for about five minutes, then started zapping on and off all over again. UGH!!!!!!!

Yeah we had a problem at work with a Radius monitor (brand new) and CDW just exchanged it. Same thing happened. I'm no monitor expert but sounds like something is fried. Obviously before taking it in for service check it on other computers if possible. Although it doesn't sound like it, it could be your video card. Good luck.
