My iShock only registers as an inputsprocket about 50% of the time. I can use the custom control panel 100%, but there are some things that the inputsprocket would work better for (MacMame, SNES9X, etc...) It's plugged directly into the G3/400 USB port (not the keyboard hub.)
Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how does one fix it.
Thanx in advance,
JB

If you haven't already, try to get the latest sprockets (Ithink version 7.1.3). If not try, PRAM, rebuilding the desktop, ect...

hey, well we're on the subject of the iShock, do the sticks actually vibrate? you know, like the playstation controller? if so, does it work with virtual gamestation?
anyway, as for your sprocket problem, try removing all the software that came with your controller, so you would be left with only the original apple input sprockets.
and all my input sprocket stuff is version 1.4. and if the iShock still doesnt work, try a gravis gamepad pro usb. works like a charm for me.

Make sure that the iShock is plugged in when you boot your system (don't plug it in afterwards, or it might not be recognized).
Also, if you're running Mac OS 9.0.4, throw away the 'Macally iShock driver' extension, or it will cause you numerous system crashes due to an incompatibility with Mac OS 9.0.4. The iShock can still be used as an InputSprockets controller as long as you leave the iShock InputSprocket file in place.
The iShock does not actually vibrate. It's named the 'iShock' to capitalize on Sony's 'Dual Shock' controller, which is so named because it *does* vibrate.

Hello,
I have had the same problem as you. I removed ALL software installed with from the ishock installation and updated the input sprockets with apple's. After I restarted a couple of times it finally started working. Just to warn you, macally's version of the input sprocket is much better and easier to use than apple's but I think it may cause incompatibilities. I also removed the gravis gamepad pro drivers and that seemed to help too.
No the controller does not shake like the playstation one does ( at least I don't know how to make it and haven't seen any documentation on it ). It also does not shock with vgs, which is a major point sony was making in the lawsuit against connectix.

A question I have about the iShock is where do you get other programmed settings for games. The Macally site has some, but I could use some for Madden 2000 and *especially* Star Wars Ep.1 Racer. Man that program has a terrible joystick config. protocol!!!
Any help would be appreciated.

I dont know specifically, but I recommend USB overdrive. It is a very handy tool. I had my USB gravis gamepad pro controlling my mouse in seconds on a whim..

My iShock wasn't working with SNES9X. I kept trying to configure it's buttons through the macally iShock manager. Then I relized that I had to do it while I was in SNES9X. Just select "configure Input Sprocket" under the file menu. It works like a charm know. I have macally's extension and the latest input sprocket drivers installed under 9.0.4. Everything is running smooth.
