I've just bought a 'My Book' western digital external hard drive, so that i can clone my macbook pro before i install boot camp (just incase).
So Iwant to clone my mac (using super duper) but also be able the harddrive when im running windows.
How do I format it apparently in need to format as mac (journaled) if I want to reboot but then it won't work with windows will it?

Need some advise! please!

there are other threads about your question, but the short answer is:
1) You can make a partition and format it using disk utility as DOS (=fat32). The HFS+ will not be accessible to windows, but the other partition is accessible (read and write) to macs and PCs.
2) You can use in your windows machine a software called MacDrive. Is allows PCs read and write in mac format..

Dr DOS is right, you can't have it both ways.
You can either have HFS, which you can boot to, but the pc can only use with 3rd party software,
or you can have fat32, which both can read, but which has some limitation (I don't know whether you can boot your mac from it) and it has a 4gb filesize limit.
